Dr. George Winship publicly demonstrates his “lifting machine.”

Winship, a graduate of Harvard and Harvard Medical School, conducts the demonstration in his office in the basement of Park Street Church. Called the “Roxbury Hercules” for his prodigious strength, his weight training equipment brings “strength seekers” flocking to his office from around the country.
